Number 2 now, this was faster than I thought. This song is more nostalgia than music taste or opening sequence quality, I didn’t actually want to put it as my top five, but I had too, this song has too much sentimental value to me. So at rank 2 of my favourite opening themes it’s: Forever by Savage Genius. Opening of Elemental Gelade. I realise opening sequence is rather typical. Was back in my early anime days, and obviously I haven’t seen enough to know what’s typical and what’s not, but I’m sure Elemental Gelade wasn’t considered typical back then.
I enjoyed the anime too much, even bought the box set DVD and manga. Thinking back, I’ve seen so many similar animes to it, but it was still one of the best I’ll ever know. If you didn’t know by now, I’m actually a big fan of Savage Genius. Shame it’s only Aa left in the band now.
Carte Tomtom Crack there. Last I heard she went on hiatus for marriage and pregnancy. Haven’t checked back since, I’ve got a few of Savage Genius’ singles and albums and it all started with this song, tis why it’s nostalgic for me. I still love the song itself, though I’ve never been able to put my finger on the genre, I always thought it was Techno, but then it sounded a little like Dance and got some Pop too Techno/Dance/Pop maybe?
Haha, I dunno, but I enjoy all three genres which is probably why I was addicted to this song for quite a while. Not addicted anymore but I still love it and I request it every time I got to any anime related parties.
I honestly don’t have as much to say on this opening theme, I mean if you look at it you’ll find it pretty much follows the standard layout, girl standing on top of water, Yumekui Merry did that as far as I can remember, but I’m pretty sure there are many others. Slideshow of characters, literally all animes do that. Scene in a forest and action scenes, I’m pretty sure most action animes have that. So yeah, a typical anime opening sequence but I love it all the same. Ah the good old days, where has the time gone.
